I have owned quite a few other string trimmers in the past and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. The Ryobi 40 volt electric string trimmer is powerful, easy to use, lightweight, and has enough juice to trim our 3/4 acre lot. I have been able to use this product for almost two full seasons now and have been very impressed.

I also have the 40 volt electric chain saw that works with the same battery system and I have also reviewed that as well. I am normally not a huge fan of Ryobi as a brand but I have purchased a few other Ryobi products and have been impressed with the design and function. Only time will tell how well they hold up but after a couple of years of using these 2 Ryobi products I am starting to warm up to the brand.

I prefer to purchase electric and batter powered devices when I can as I prefer to own devices that I can produce my own energy for. With gas prices constantly on the rise it is a nice feeling to not have to worry about purchasing gas all the time for trimmers, chain saws, and other yard tools.

I do not receive any incentive to review these products, I do this to give others information so that they can make informed decisions.

Thanks for watching!

I hope I don't lose you at the word ELECTRIC or BATTERY.  I know what you're thinking because I was thinking the same thing when I purchased this electric chain saw to go with the Ryobi 40V battery system I was already starting to collect.  But, like we always say here at Simple Suburban Living, we have a small yard and, although I would love a more powerful (and expensive) chainsaw, we really don't have a need for it around here.

The saw is fairly powerful for an electric saw and is able to cut through 12-inch logs with no trouble.

Of course, this is no saw mill chainsaw and nothing you are going to be milling lumber with, but for a quick around-the-house saw it is great. I try to give a thorough review when I review products and I hope that anyone looking to purchase this saw will be better informed.  I have had the chainsaw for about a year now and have had a chance to use it throughout the winter and this summer. I really had a hard time finding anything wrong with the saw and am extremely happy with its use.

I will also do a review on the weed-trimmer at a later date.

Check out this video to see the Ryobi 40-volt chainsaw in action.
