I hope I don't lose you at the word ELECTRIC or BATTERY.  I know what you're thinking because I was thinking the same thing when I purchased this electric chain saw to go with the Ryobi 40V battery system I was already starting to collect.  But, like we always say here at Simple Suburban Living, we have a small yard and, although I would love a more powerful (and expensive) chainsaw, we really don't have a need for it around here.

The saw is fairly powerful for an electric saw and is able to cut through 12-inch logs with no trouble.

Of course, this is no saw mill chainsaw and nothing you are going to be milling lumber with, but for a quick around-the-house saw it is great. I try to give a thorough review when I review products and I hope that anyone looking to purchase this saw will be better informed.  I have had the chainsaw for about a year now and have had a chance to use it throughout the winter and this summer. I really had a hard time finding anything wrong with the saw and am extremely happy with its use.

I will also do a review on the weed-trimmer at a later date.

Check out this video to see the Ryobi 40-volt chainsaw in action.

    1. I have never tried that but I do have several gallons of oil saved up for something..... Can you do that without damaging the saw do you think?

My favorite feature of this chainsaw is the automatic oiler system and a tool-less chain tensioning system for quick and fast chain adjustments.

  17. If you are buying a chainsaw for general occasional lite to moderately heavy use the McCullogh, and Poulan chain saws are good for the job. https://polesawguide.com/blog/how-to-sharpen-a-pole-saw-blade/ That is not to say that the all others aren't perfectly good chainsaws.

  20. Even if you’re not a woodworker, you can still get good use out of a sander. This power tool can speed along difficult jobs, such as smoothing out jagged paint on the side of a house or cleaning up flea market furniture before repainting them. It also works well to deburr the rough edge on a piece of metal; it can smooth drywall, a rough tool handle, or remove rust. Really, a sander is indispensable for jobs around the house and in the shop. That’s why we gathered both corded and cordless sanders and tested them to help you find a machine that suits you.
